State law sets the protest deadline(s) and the appraisal district does not have the authority to extend them under the law. Protests can be emailed to hcadinformation@usapathway.com, placed in the U.S. Mail, or deposited in the drop box located next to the appraisal district’s front door up to the day of the deadline. The deadline is printed on your Notice of Appraised Value.
A property owner who files the notice of protest after the deadline but before the appraisal review board approves the appraisal records is entitled to a hearing and a determination of the protest on a showing of good cause as determined by the ARB for failure to file the notice on time.
